If downloaded, the malware can extract sensitive information, such as login credentials and financial details. Mac users are targeted with a specific malware called Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS), while Windows users are hit with SocGholish malware. Since WordPress powers such a vast number of websites, attacks like these can spread quickly and affect a large number of users.

Recommendations:

Website Owners: Keep WordPress, plugins, and themes updated. Remove outdated or unnecessary plugins. Use a security plugin for system, log, and traffic monitoring. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for the admin panel.
