To help those impacted, Excelsior is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and fraud protection.
Recently, new details revealed that the Monti ransomware group was behind the attack. The group claimed they stole 300 gigabytes of data and made it publicly available online. This has raised serious concerns about how the stolen data might be misused. Excelsior Orthopaedics is now working to improve its security while advising affected individuals to take precautions. This incident is another example of how healthcare organizations are increasingly targeted by ransomware attacks.

Space:

Blue Origin is preparing for the first-ever launch of its New Glenn rocket, scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 AM EST from Cape Canaveral, Florida. This mission is significant because it will also serve as Blue Origin’s first national security space launch certification flight. This certification is a critical step that allows the rocket to be used for future missions involving sensitive U.S. government payloads, like satellites for the Department of Defense or intelligence agencies. The New Glenn rocket will carry the Blue Ring Pathfinder payload, testing its ability to deploy satellites and proving its capabilities for heavy-lift missions.
