SpaceX Launches:
- SpaceX has scheduled a Falcon 9 rocket launch for Thursday, March 14, aiming to send 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) in Florida. The launch window opens at 7:04 p.m. ET, with additional launch opportunities extending to 10:40 p.m. ET. Should it be necessary, further launch chances are set for the following day, Friday, March 15, beginning at 6:39 p.m. ET. Concurrently, SpaceX plans to conduct the third flight test of the Starship on the same day, March 14, with a 110-minute window starting at 7:00 a.m. CT. Given the exploratory nature of these tests, timings are subject to adjustments.
- The upcoming Starship test flight intends to advance the learnings from its predecessors by undertaking several challenging goals. These include a successful ascent burn, operating the payload door, demonstrating propellant transfer in space, relighting the Raptor engine while in orbit, and ensuring a controlled reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, with a planned splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Roku Cyberattack:
- Roku has reported a breach that led to unauthorized access to 15,363 user accounts and their associated credit card information. The company alerted its customers that hackers used previously stolen login credentials to attempt buying streaming service subscriptions in a few instances. Roku identified that the compromised credentials likely came from earlier breaches at other services, employing a method known as credential stuffing, where attackers use leaked email-password combinations on various sites.
- Upon accessing a Roku account, the intruders sometimes altered login details to seize complete control. Despite the breach, Roku confirmed that no social security numbers, full payment card numbers, or birth dates were disclosed. Roku has taken measures to lock down the compromised accounts, urging affected users to reset their passwords and initiating processes to reverse and refund any illegitimate transactions.
