Yesterday, October 07, 2025, a chemical accident occurred at the Schnarr Heinrich GmbH electroplating factory in Mainaschaff, near Aschaffenburg in Bavaria, Germany, when a large metal part fell into a 6,000-liter tank of nitric acid around 6:30 PM local time. This triggered a reaction that released a yellowish gas cloud, potentially containing toxic nitrous gases, which drifted over nearby areas including Aschaffenburg. Two to four employees sustained minor injuries and received on-site treatment. Authorities issued an extreme poison alert through the KatWarn app and social media, advising residents in the Unterfranken region to stay indoors, seal windows and doors, disable ventilation and air conditioning systems, and assist vulnerable individuals without exposing themselves to risk.

The response involved over 250 firefighters in protective gear, along with police and about 80 rescue personnel, who cordoned off the site, removed the metal component, and transferred the acid to a safe container to halt the reaction. Air quality measurements detected no harmful substances up to five kilometers away, and after a brief period of white smoke during cooling, the all-clear was announced around 11 PM, confirming no lasting public danger.

Developers can also change the look of these parts—such as waveforms or chat messages—to match the style of their own app. The tool is based on a flexible design system called shadcn/ui and is released under the MIT license, meaning anyone can use or modify it for free. Getting started is simple with setup instructions and a command-line tool called @elevenlabs/agents-cli, which helps developers install the components quickly. The goal of ElevenLabs UI is to make it easier and faster to build modern apps that use voice and audio features.

History:

Broadcom’s origins trace back to 1991, when UCLA professors Henry Samueli and Henry Nicholas founded Broadcom Corporation to develop semiconductors for high-speed data and broadband communication. Initially focused on Ethernet networking and cable modem chips, the company quickly expanded into DSL, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and set-top box solutions.
