Trending:
- On May 18, President Trump announced that the U.S. has delayed a planned strike on Iran.

- Gulf leaders reported serious negotiations are underway for a deal that would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump ordered U.S. forces to stand down for now but remain ready for a full assault if no acceptable agreement is reached on Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and proxy forces.

Space:
- On May 19, ESA and China successfully launched the SMILE spacecraft aboard a Vega-C rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

- SMILE (Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer) is a joint mission that will study how Earth’s magnetosphere interacts with the solar wind. It will provide the first global images of the planet’s protective magnetic shield, helping scientists better predict space weather events that can affect satellites, power grids, and astronauts.
Science & Technology:
- On May 18, a federal jury unanimously dismissed Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, OpenAI, and Microsoft.

- The jury ruled that Musk waited too long to file the case (statute of limitations), even though he accused them of profiting from OpenAI’s shift away from its original nonprofit mission. The quick verdict (under two hours) keeps OpenAI’s current for-profit structure fully intact as the company continues rapid growth.
NVIDIA Rollout:
- On May 18, NVIDIA delivered its first-ever Vera CPUs to Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX, and Oracle Cloud. Vera is NVIDIA’s first custom-designed CPU, built specifically for the new era of agentic AI — AI systems that can think, plan, and act independently — marking the company’s expansion from GPUs into full AI supercomputing processors.

History:
- The idea of “non-human intelligence” has existed across nearly every civilization in human history, long before modern discussions about aliens or UAPs. In ancient cultures, these intelligences were usually described as gods, angels, demons, spirits, or beings descending from the heavens. In ancient Egypt (3000–30 BC), rulers were not just political leaders—they were considered divine or semi-divine beings connected directly to higher powers. Pharaohs were viewed as living intermediaries between humanity and the gods, and Egyptian mythology described powerful non-human entities like Ra, Osiris, Thoth, and Anubis interacting directly with humanity, guiding civilization, law, astronomy, and death rituals. Similar patterns existed in Mesopotamia, where the Sumerians (4000–2000 BC) described the Anunnaki, powerful beings associated with creation, kingship, and celestial authority. In many ancient societies, kings ruled through a “divine mandate,” meaning authority was believed to come from non-human or heavenly forces. This concept appears globally—from the “Mandate of Heaven” in China to god-kings in Mesoamerica and divine emperors in Rome and Japan. Whether interpreted spiritually, mythologically, or literally, ancient civilizations consistently described humanity as interacting with intelligences beyond ordinary human existence.
- One of the most influential frameworks for non-human intelligence comes from the Bible and related ancient texts, particularly through angels, demons, and the Nephilim. In the Book of Genesis (Genesis 6:1–4), the Nephilim are described as beings connected to the “sons of God” who came to Earth and interacted with humans, producing mighty offspring or giants. This passage has been interpreted in many ways: fallen angels, divine beings, corrupted rulers, or symbolic hybridization between heavenly and earthly forces. Later Jewish texts like the Book of Enoch—which heavily influenced early religious thought—expand this narrative, describing the “Watchers,” angelic beings who descended to Earth, shared forbidden knowledge with humanity, and corrupted civilization through warfare, sorcery, and advanced teachings. In Christianity and Islam, angels became associated with divine order and messengers of God, while demons represented rebellious or fallen intelligences working against divine structure. Throughout history, rulers often tied themselves to these forces—either claiming divine guidance or portraying enemies as influenced by dark powers. Medieval Europe, for example, viewed plagues, wars, and strange celestial events through spiritual warfare frameworks involving angels and demons. Across these traditions, non-human intelligence was not viewed as fantasy but as an active force influencing civilizations, kings, morality, and history itself.
- In the modern era, the concept of non-human intelligence evolved into new forms tied to science, UFOs, consciousness, and advanced technology. By the 1940s–1950s, UFO encounters began replacing older religious language with technological imagery—craft instead of chariots, extraterrestrials instead of angels. Some researchers argue this is simply culture updating the same phenomenon through modern frameworks. Others believe ancient gods, angels, demons, extraterrestrials, and interdimensional beings may all represent humanity attempting to describe encounters with forms of intelligence beyond normal understanding. Intelligence agencies and governments became interested in these questions during the Cold War through investigations into UFOs, consciousness, remote viewing, and psychological operations, while modern neuroscience and quantum theories reopened discussions about consciousness itself. By 2026, debates around non-human intelligence now span religion, ancient history, aerospace phenomena, AI, simulation theory, and interdimensional concepts. Some interpret these intelligences as extraterrestrial civilizations, others as spiritual beings, ancient advanced entities, or manifestations connected to consciousness itself. What makes the topic persist across thousands of years is the repeating pattern: civilizations across time consistently reported encounters with forces, beings, or intelligences perceived as beyond ordinary humanity—shaping religion, rulership, mythology, and the human understanding of reality itself.
